What Access Does HostDudes Need?

A plain answer to one of the most common questions new customers ask: what information HostDudes actually asks for to host your node, and what you should never share with anyone.

The short version

We only ask for the minimal information needed to host your node: how many of each node you want, an email for invoicing, and any API key the ecosystem requires. You never have to connect a wallet to use our services, and HostDudes will never ask for your seed phrase or private key. The sections below spell out the details.

  1. 1

What we ask for when you onboard

Onboarding happens in a private Discord ticket, so your details stay out of public channels. To get your node hosted, we ask for:

    • How many of each node you want to run
    • An email address for invoicing
    • Any API key or identifier your ecosystem requires. If you are not sure where to find yours, we will walk you through it in your ticket.

That is everything we need to get started. If you can join a Discord server and have a node license, you are ready to go.

  2. 2

Does HostDudes need your seed phrase or private key? Never.

HostDudes will never ask for your seed phrase or private key, and you never have to connect a wallet to use our services.

If anyone claiming to be HostDudes asks for your seed phrase or private key, or asks you to connect a wallet, stop. Do not share them, and let the team know in a ticket in the official Discord server.

  3. 3

Wallet steps stay in your hands

Some ecosystems include setup steps that involve your wallet — for example, adding your node on the official LFG Node Dashboard after we prepare your machine. You complete those steps yourself, on the official ecosystem site, with your own wallet.

Our tutorials walk you through them, such as Add a Node on the LFG Dashboard and Minting a Token on Gala Connect.

    How billing works

We handle the setup and ping you once your node is live. After you confirm it is online, we send your first invoice. Invoices arrive by email through Xero, and you can pay with PayPal or with a credit or debit card through Stripe.

  5. 5

Make sure you are talking to the real HostDudes

Reach us through the Discord links on this site. After you join and verify, open a ticket in the support-center channel — tickets are how the team handles hosting, billing, and support questions.

Be careful with unexpected direct messages. Scammers sometimes impersonate support teams on Discord, so when in doubt, keep the conversation inside a ticket in the official server.
